PROJECT STATEMENT

“CLEARCUTS” is about the morphing, layering, contrast, and geometrical moments as the viewer shifts their perspective around the Tower. Instead of presenting a definitive narrative, we’ve provided this set of characteristics, allowing viewers to superimpose their interpretations. As observers navigate closer, step back, or circle the piece, they encounter subtle nuances, intentional offsets, and shifting color palettes that coalesce to offer multifaceted interpretations and create moments rich in ambiguity. Our construction approach was deeply rooted in the juxtaposition of interior versus exterior, aspiring for a joined complex that delivers a variety of experiences depending on the vantage point. The structure’s outer shell, with its strategic openings and voids, unveils the inner hollows and skeletal framework of the sculpture. These revelations punctuate the experience, introducing moments of delightful surprise and lending further dynamism to the Tower.
