PROJECT STATEMENT
As cities attempt to accommodate and flourish an ever-growing diversity of people, plants, animals, ideologies, and ways of living, we turn to the vertical component of our cities to provide the space for accommodating such needs. Our project, the Agro-Wall, attempts to contribute to the larger ecological conversation of survival through the engagement and nourishment of the community and its multi-specie participants. The collapsible and rapidly deployable base structure is constructed using the open-grid structure and serves as a scaffolding and shelving system for a range of free-standing elements such as pods, animals, humans, etc. These pods themselves are also seen and constructed as a base skeletal frame which can then be refined and articulated based on the pod's desired use and the community's needs. These free-standing pods with their diverse range of functions, densities, and articulations can be installed or uninstalled, directly engaging the community and at the same time serving as a billboard that represents the ever-changing identity of a group of people at a certain time and place.
