PROJECT STATEMENT

Hybrid Industrial Nature 

This project is an exploration of hybrid materials of metal, carbon fiber, and moss. The metal contours act as the exterior framework to create organically curved and double curve interior voids, which are defined by the carbon fiber. We started this form through constant iterations, looking at different curvilinear solid and void relationships.

Ultimately we chose to focus on how carbon fiber can define the interior void, the metal contours defining the exterior condition, and finally how the moss defines the 3rd condition. The idea of the project is manifesting industry versus nature - the integration of fiber/metal and moss shows the disparity between the two conditions.
